Well you win some and you lose some. It appears as if Death Rattle Magazine has gone belly-up. I posted some time ago that according to the Death Rattle site, their 2nd magazine was close to being finished.
That was SOME time ago.
The status has not been updated in months, and after trying to contact the publisher at Evil Cat Press, it appears as if the email is no longer active. So, it is with regret that I have to announce that my poem "If You Only Knew" will be delayed until I can find another venue to publish it. Forlorn. But no worries. I will certainly dust it off and resubmit it elsewhere.
I know the feeling - they had a story of mine as well. Oh well, off it goes elsewhere...
ReplyDeleteA serious downer. Carolanne was a pretty straightforward editor and very professional, but maybe she bit off more than was chewable. I also had a poem scheduled for release in the 2nd issue, following my story in the first ish. Establishing working relationships with editors is one of the hardest things to do in publishing. Maybe I'll just start my own...
ReplyDeleteYeah, I wasn't happy about it. I've been looking forward to this one, mostly because the first looked so good. But I can't fault the editor or the publication. Sometimes they just dry up.
ReplyDeleteOnward and (hopefully) upward, I suppose.
